LEPHEPHANE- Mahlane Secondary School, located in Rasebalane Village outside Tzaneen, has emerged as the top-performing school in the Khujiwana Circuit for the 2024 matric results, achieving an impressive 95.23% pass rate.

The achievement places Mahlane Secondary ahead of other schools in the circuit, including Mpumulana Secondary (95.12%) and Matimu Secondary (92.06%).

The School Governing Body (SGB) Chairperson, Charles Machete, expressed his delight at the school’s milestone, attributing the success to their strategic School Improvement Plan.

“I’m happy that we managed to achieve this percentage. It was not easy, but we succeeded because of our improvement plan, which helped us a lot,” Machete said.

He further credited regular study camps and the collaborative effort of educators, learners, parents, and the SGB. “We worked as a unit. We would also like to thank the learners for their hard work and commitment. As school management, we plan to visit those who didn’t pass to see how we can assist them moving forward,” Machete added.

School Principal, Letsilane MP, echoed the sentiments, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in their success. “It was all teamwork, from parents, educators, and learners, with support from the SGB and circuit manager. I’m excited, together with the staff and SGB, and we are aiming for 100% in 2025,” he said.

The principal extended special thanks to various stakeholders, including Mr. Machete for his continuous support and Mma-Makgoba, who often stayed overnight to guard learners during camps. “The 2024 matriculants have set the bar high, and we hope the 2025 class will emulate them,” he concluded.

Mahlane Secondary’s remarkable achievement has set a shining example for other schools in the Khujiwana Circuit, reinforcing the importance of unity and dedication in education.
