NKOWANKOWA- Delivery lorry was this morning (Tuesday) overturned while running away from looters.
It is alleged the lorry that belongs to Bushvalley farming was driving pass Showground near Bendzulani complex when it met angry protesters who wanted to loot the vehicle.
According to eyewitness the driver sped up the vehicle but lost control and overturned.
Traffic came to a standstill when the truck overturned and the road was flooded with looters running to help themselves to its load while the driver is trapped inside.
Police arrived on scene promptly in an attempt to disperse the crowds,the road had since been cleared.
A case of malicious damage to property has been opened and the investigation is ongoing. The police will continue patrolling the area until they are sure that everything is normal.
No injuries were reported. The situation is calm at the moment.
