NWAMITWA – In a daring escape gone wrong, suspected livestock thieves crashed into a tree after attempting to steal goats in the village of Nwajahani, Nwamitwa, during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
According to eyewitnesses, a local man on his way to work noticed suspicious activity and saw the suspects attempting to load approximately ten goats into their vehicle, a Toyota Camry with the registration number FCS 742 L. He immediately notified the owner of the goats, who then pursued the suspects with the help of a local taxi driver.
As the suspects tried to make a high-speed getaway, the taxi driver gave chase. In the panic, the suspects lost control of the vehicle, ultimately crashing into a tree. Despite the collision, they managed to exit the damaged car and fled into nearby bushes, eluding capture.
Police have confirmed they are actively investigating the incident. Local authorities are urging anyone with information on the suspects’ whereabouts to come forward.
