Lioness spotted casually strolling at Phalaborwa mining company (PMC) yard

PHALABORWA- Phalaborwa town is located near the Kruger National Park and other nature reserves which are home to the “Big Five”, such as lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and African buffalo.

When one of these animals is on the loose, the community and residents are always urged to be vigilant.

A wild animal, believed to be a lioness, was spotted casually strolling at the Phalaborwa Mining Company (PMC) yard a mining company bordering the Kruger National Park on Tuesday afternoon.

The wild animal was allegedly spotted and captured in a 13-second video and shared on social media through the SA Trucker publication.

Residents in the area have been advised “to act with appropriate caution and to avoid the adjacent forests” and look after pets and farm animals.

Anyone crossing paths with the big cat should seek safety immediately and call the police.
