POLOKWANE-Entrepreneurship is leading the market lately with many businesses started by young women. Some of these amazing women excel in skills that are sought after the world over.
One inspiring story is from Avhaathu Queeneth Mutele.
Mutele wears many hats. She is a University of South Africa(UNISA) graduate, a military practitioner by profession and the sole founder of Q-ton cooking oil, manufactured by Nyitombuya Trading and Consulting.
Born and raised in a small village of Ha-Mahuela in Venda, Vhembe District, Mutele has taken giant leaps in life and business from a humble beginning.
“I was taught business at a tender age by my parents who I still look up to as role models. Watching them navigate through life has taught me that lack of money or education is not a stumbling block “, she said.
Q-ton cooking oil was founded in 2018 and officially launched in 2022. The product is delivered to different businesses in Johannesburg and Limpopo province and they envisage branching out to other provinces in the not-so-distant future. Mutele emphasized that in business there is no room for procrastination.
“I don’t even have time to pass apart from spending time with family. My business consumes too much of my time. I live by the notion that the easiest way to get started is to quit talking and start doing and therefore 24 hours a day is not enough”, she added.
In conclusion, the ambitious young woman quoted Henry Ford’s popular saying “whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right”. She advised upcoming entrepreneurs to believe that they can succeed and find ways to overcome obstacles.
