LIMPOPO- The Limpopo ANC Youth League (ANCYL) executive, has laid its intention clear and that is to lobby for their deployment in both private and all government spheres.

Following its first PEC meeting on Sunday, April 2, the league has resolved to lobby the Limpopo ANC and Premier Stanley Mathabatha to urgently include its provincial chairperson Tonny Rachoene in the Provincial Government Executive Council.

The league says the current composition of the Provincial Government Executive Council is in breach of  ANC’s 25% youth representation policy.

” We are therefore lobbying for the urgent inclusion of our Provincial chairperson in the executive council, as he does not only have the requisite skills to be a MEC but also has the necessary energy to turn around any government department” Provincial ANCYL spokesperson, Mike Ramothwala said.

The MEC hopeful Youth League chairperson is currently the deputy director at the Limpopo Department of Health.

Some of the youth league graduates who were deployed into the Provincial Government Executive Council by Mathabatha’s administration include Onicca Moloi and Thandi Moraka, who both served as the MECs for Sports, Arts & Culture.

The ANC Provincial spokesperson Jimmy Machaka said the Provincial youth league has every right to demand the inclusion of well-experienced and qualified young people in various positions of responsibility, which includes the Executive Council and various boards.

He further said their call is necessary and they shouldn’t back down.
