MAPAYENI VILLAGE: The police in Giyani say they have opened a case inquest following the discovery of a lifeless body in the small dam near Mapayeni village on Saturday.
Two men went for fishing in the said dam at around 11: 30am.
The Police say It is alleged that the victim was under the influence of liquor when he took off his clothes as usual and subsequently fell into the dam.
His friend then waited for him to come out from the Dam until he realizes that the victim was drowned.
He then went to the village to inform the community members.
The deceased has been identified as a 60-year-old, Luther Mdumo Chabalala.
The man certified deceased when his body was retrieved from the dam by the SAPS search and rescue team.
