Letaba FET TVET College and CHIETA Launch Groundbreaking Smart Skills Centre in Limpopo

KGAPANE-In a significant stride towards bridging the technological gap in Limpopo, Letaba FET TVET College, in partnership with CHIETA, has launched the first-of-its-kind Smart Skills Centre.

This innovative facility is situated within the Modjadji FET College and is poised to revolutionize access to technology for college students, learners from nearby schools, and local business people.

The Smart Skills Centre aims to provide the community with essential technological resources, helping them stay connected to the global digital landscape. By offering access to cutting-edge technology, the centre will empower students and professionals alike, enabling them to enhance their skills and improve their employability in a rapidly evolving job market.

The launch event was a momentous occasion, marked by the enthusiastic presence of various dignitaries and community leaders. Among them was the Mayor of Greater Letaba Municipality, Councillor Dagma Mamanyoha, who expressed immense pride and optimism about the centre’s potential impact.

“The Chemical Programme being introduced by CHIETA will provide our learners with rare skills that are crucial for their personal development and our economy’s growth. These skills will equip them to face the job market confidently, making them not only employable but also capable of creating job opportunities themselves. We are thrilled as a municipality to embark on this journey with the college and CHIETA,” said Mayor Mamanyoha.

The launch event was well-attended, featuring notable figures such as the Chairperson of Letaba TVET College Council, Mrs. Sehlake; CHIETA Board Chairperson, Ms. Khoza; CHIETA CEO, Mr. Pillay; the Acting Principal of Letaba FET College, Mr. Moshoma; representatives from the Modjadji Traditional Council; Whip of Council, Councillor Rosina Ramalatso; EXCO Member, Councillor Rueben Mosila; and local councillors.

This partnership between Letaba FET TVET College and CHIETA underscores a commitment to fostering educational and economic development in Limpopo.
