LEPHEPANE-Tzaneen police are searching for suspect after an 18-year-old girl was raped.
It is alleged that the victim was from a local tavern on Monday at approximately at 4:30 am with her boyfriend when four known teenagers approached them near Rovers Sport ground at Lephepane in Greater Tzaneen and started beating her boyfriend and kicked him while he was on the ground.
The victim stated that one of the suspects had voluntarily offered to escort her home while the others were busy kicking her boyfriend.
She also alleged that along the way the suspect accompanying her home drew an okapi knife, threatening to stab her if she could shout.
The suspect then took the victim to his home, where he subdued and raped her.
Police said that the suspect gave the victim a taxi fare of R10 in the morning. “The suspect is known and has not yet been arrested.
