Lepelle Northern Water announces urgent 14-hour shut down in Phalaborwa

PHALABORWA- Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) has announced the 14-hour emergency water supply interruption in Phalaborwa town and Lulekani.

The 14-hour emergency water shutdown commenced at 06:00am on wednesday,3rd and the water supply will be restored at 20h00 the same day.

The shutdown of Phalaborwa water scheme is due to the repairing of 4 major leaks along the pipeline.

The Mopani District Municipal Spokesperson, Odas Ngobeni confirmed the shutdown and further said the district municipality will be meeting with both LNW and Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality to establish what kind of support they can provide to ensure consistent water supply to the residents of Phalaborwa town and Lulekani.

Residents are still advised to limit water consumption to immediate household needs. Report water supply issues, leaks and burst pipes to the municipal water and sanitation helpline.
