LENYENYE: The community of Lenyenye in Greater Tzaneen is left in disbelief following the mass collapse of learners at Phusela High School on Friday morning.
An eyewitness told Tzaneen Voice on the condition of anonymity that learners started collapsing while convened in a morning prayer session.
Over 20 learners dropped unconscious while others were seen kicking and screaming.
According to the informant, learners at Grade 10 A have been complaining of seeing a mysterious animal in class.
The mass collapse incident happens while the school is currently mourning the loss of a learner, Elijah Karabo Mahasha, who committed suicide at his home on Wednesday in Kuwait on the outskirts of Lenyenye township.
An attempt to get hold of the school’s president drew blanks as his phone rang unanswered.
It remains to be seen if normal schooling will resume come next Monday.
