GIYANI-Xitsonga traditional music bass guitarist Thomas Mathonsi has died. His family has announced this on his Facebook page.
Mathonsi is a great xitsonga traditional music legend who was also nominated in the 2022 Munghana limonene fm Awards in the category of traditional music.
During his time he performed and worked with the likes of Dr Thomas Chauke and Xitsonga music producer Joe Shirimane.
His death has been described as a great loss to the traditional Xitsonga music.
