RIBUNGWANI VILLAGE-A massive manhunt has been launched for an unknown African male suspect who allegedly raped a 16-year-old learner in the Hlanganani policing precinct on March 3, 2025. The victim was attacked while walking alone on a secluded road from Ribungwani village.
According to reports, the suspect, wearing a black bulletproof vest and armed with a firearm, accosted the victim, dragged her to the bushes, and raped her at gunpoint. He then took her cellphone, offered her money, and warned her not to disclose the incident to anyone.
Limpopo Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has condemned the senseless attack, emphasizing that children should be able to walk freely without fear of harm. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
