POLOKWANE-Out of favour Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane was attacked by a flying bottle and cut underneath the eye after the team lost to SuperSport United at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in the DStv Premiership on Saturday.

Amakhosi suffered their 11th defeat of the season and a group of Khosi fans didn’t take the loss very well.

Coach Zwane and his players were subjected to a barrage of missiles from angry supporters after they lost 1-0, ending any hope they might have of finishing in the top three and booking a place in African club competition next season.

Zwane needed treatment after the game and missed post match press conference but Assistant coach Dillon Shepered had to step in.

He was hit as he entered the tunnel heading towards the change-room where supporters hung overhead, and Zwane and his players were easy targets for those throwing objects at them. Police moved quickly to try and shepherd the players to safety, but did nothing to try and clear the angry fans.
