DAN VILLAGE -Residents of Rhulani village at Dan in the Greater Tzaneen Municipality finally have electricity restored, after spending weeks in the dark.
The community embarked on a peaceful march to the Eskom offices in Nkowankowa on Saturday, February 20.
One of the residents expressed her dissatisfaction regarding the power utility over the power outage that spanned for over two weeks. “We don’t have electricity for 2 weeks now and we called and got reference but technicians are not coming or calling us. We cleaned our fridges and we don’t have food to eat.” the resident mentioned.
Nevertheless, the protest proved fruitful as Tzaneen Voice was alerted that power had been restored a few hours after the residents went to voice out their grievances at Eskom.
Efforts to get a word from the Eskom Supervisor regarding the reasons behind the two-week-long power were in vain.
