CALAIS VILLAGE-Police are investigating a case of livestock theft after the remains of seven cattle were found at Calais village and La boheme Farm, under Maruleng municipality.
The suspects, according to the community members, move around farms, targeting cattle and slaughtering them to sell the meat, or for their own consumption.
Police investigations discovered cattle slaughtered in different spots in one farm on Sunday.
The thieves were apparently disturbed as they left all the carcasses and instruments, they were using to dismember the animals
“The other cattle were found slaughtered on Sunday La boheme Farm, the thieves managed to take the carcasses and left only small portions of the meat.”
