PRETORIA-The journey of entrepreneurship for Katekani Nyambe (34) has by choice and fate, affectionately known as Katekani wa Mhani started selling Atchaar at the age of 24 while doing 3rd year at the Tshwane University of Technology.
Born and bred in the dusty village of Khakhala in Giyani and his entrepreneurial skills were tested when he decided to pay off his strenuous university fee.
“I discovered my hustling while I was still very young at Khakhala primary school, I used to sell sweets to fellow learners and at high school as well I decide to photography business,” he told Tzaneen voice
A friend who became a samaritan gave him R150 to purchase Atchar which he started selling on the streets of Pretoria after attending classes at TUT.
Katekani wa Mhani went on to do a Btech at Tshwane University of Technology in Operations Management but Despite graduating, Katekani says he will never stop selling atchar as his business is booming, and he now has a shop and delivery van.
“It has been nine years and three years ago they managed to get a shop at 344 Francis Baard Street at Pretoria central and he created employment for three hard-working youngsters,” he said
His atchar is medium cut and grated. The flavours are Mild, Garlic and Garlic Hot. Katekani wa Mhani says Garlic Hot sells like hot cakes and many customers buy it. They deliver nationwide.
He says to communities out there that Life is about Pull and push and they should never give up or be tempted to quit.
