KATLEHONG-A group of passionate members of the Incredible Happenings Ministry gathered outside the Palm Ridge Magistrate Court today, calling for the release of their leader, Pastor Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng.
The group, many dressed t shirt write “BBM” means Bring back Mboro held up placards and sang hymns, filling the court’s entrance with a spiritual ambiance.
Their demand for the pastor’s release comes after his bail application was postponed yet again.
Pastor Mboro, who was arrested last month for forcibly removing his grandchildren from school and brandishing machetes in the process, has been the subject of intense public interest.
“We believe in the power of prayer, and we are confident that Pastor Mboro will be released soon.
We are not leaving until our prayers are answered,” said one of the church members. The group stood united in prayer, pledging to remain outside the court until their spiritual leader is granted bail.
Inside the courtroom, proceedings became heated as the state requested the recusal of Magistrate Mokoena, accusing her of bias in handling the controversial pastor’s case. This move has caused further delays, leaving Pastor Mboro’s followers frustrated but unwavering in their support.
Pastor Mboro’s legal team has argued that their client’s safety in prison is compromised, comparing his current treatment to that of apartheid-era injustices. They maintain that Mboro is not a flight risk and should be released on bail.
Despite the growing tension surrounding the case, Pastor Mboro’s supporters remain hopeful. “He is our leader, and we stand by him,” said another member of the congregation.
The court has yet to make a decision, with the next hearing scheduled for September 11, when the magistrate will decide on whether to continue overseeing the case.
