Identity of the student that died on Magoebaskloof R71 road revealed

TZANEEN: The identity of the student that was killed on the R71 Magoebaskloof near Mountain Lodge on Friday has been revealed.

Wordsworth Sekatane, a student at the University of Limpopo lost his life when the Volkswagen Polo he hitch- hiked collided with a lorry last week.

An eyewitness told Tzaneen Voice that a speeding Polo, blue in colour tried to overtake in a curve and hit the head on a lorry that was trying to open the way.

Sekatane was one of the two hitchhikers who were passengers in the Polo vehicle.

The 21-year-old Molecular and Life Sciences student was hitchhiking to visit family in Bushbuckridge for long weekend.

Students at the University of Limpopo have confirmed that they will hold a candle light ceremony on campus to honour the life of the deceased.

Sekatane’s funeral details are yet to be confirmed.
