STEELPORT: The identities of eight people who were killed in a horrific accident involving a bus and truck on the R555 have been revealed.
The five men and three women died while en route to their construction site at the mines when their truck crashed with a bus on the R555 road in the Steelpoort area.
The Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune District, Minah Bahula who visited the families on Friday has called upon all to support the affected families and urges for psycho-social support to those impacted by this devastating event.
The deceased are identified as follows:
1. Rachel Maphanga Ga Mampuru Village
2. Maria Malatjie from Bothashoek Village
3. Raymond Mokoena from Shakung Village
4. Ndziniza Nicholas from – Ga Phasha (originally – Eswatini)
5. Ndziniza Ncaba from Ga Phasha (originally – Eswatini)
6. Hector Nyalungu from Bushbuckridge
7. Lucky ( A Zimbabwean National )
The eighth victim is unidentified and unknown to authorities at this point.
Meanwhile, the families affected are still awaiting official post-mortem reports from the authorities.
