BOLOBEDU SOUTH- The human remains found near Leokwe village in Bolobedu South, are believed to be those of Stephen Ndlala who has been missing after being stabbed at a tavern on Christmas Eve of 2022.
The skeletal remains were discovered by the residents in a bush near Leokwe village on Sunday,15 and then quickly contacted the Ndlala family, who then identified him through the faded and torn clothes which were found along the remains.
According to Ndlala’s sister Sparks, who was with him on the night he was stabbed, said she’s convinced that it could be him because the pieces of clothes ( cream white pants and lemon t-shirt) found with the remains are the ones were last seen wearing, however, the DNA test will ultimately determine whether the remains found on the scene are his.
This publication reported earlier this year, that Ndlala was pierced with a panga on the head in the early hours of Christmas allegedly by his old enemies at Ga-Ditaba tavern in Morutjie village.
It was said that after being hurled with a panga on the head, he unconsciously ran for his life while covered in blood running towards the Morutjie clinic shouting for help.
A few days after his disappearance the family together with the police launched a search for him at the local velds he was heard shouting toward, however, no trace of him was found, until 10 months later when his remains might have been found a few kilometres away from where he was stabbed.
However, his sister says the location at which his believed remains were discovered is very odd because it’s at an open veld where people frequently pass along.
” We are waiting for the DNA to fully confirm his remains, but as the family we are surprised about the location at which the remains were found, it’s an open veld where people could have had a smell or the local cattle herders might have come across this,” she said.
