NAMAKGALE- Junior Mamose Poopedi a 40-year-old woman born and bred in Ga-Dikgale manufactures beds of different sizes in Namakgale.
The business started in 2009 after she received training from Edblo a bed manufacturing company based in Johannesburg. She received the training after a friend negotiated with the company on her behalf. Her quality manufactured beds such as King foam and pocket springs start from R4800 to R9000. She does the base and the mattress.
Poopedi makes 20 beds per day with her three full-time employees. She also hired two people to help with marketing. The business is based at Malungani village near Z.C.C church in Namakgale. She encourages many young people in the journey of entrepreneurship not to lose hope and keep pushing.
She says her entrepreneurship journey started from humble beginnings when she used to sell sweets, peanuts and Simba chips at school. Later she sold shoes for kids and now she manufactures and sells beds.
The bed manufacturer is looking for a bigger space to rent so that she can expand her growing business. She further mentioned that people always go to her workshop to check the beds. Poopedi seeks funding to buy a bigger machine for her production of making beds to expand.
