TZANEEN- Police are investigating a case of robbery emanating from a hitchhiking incident.
According to the victim, 54-year-old Samuel Mapapa alleges that he hitchhiked a silver VW Polo with an unknown registration number to Tarentaal on Wednesday afternoon inside they were three Tswana-speaking African males.
The victim further alleges that along the way they took a gravel road and crossed the river and took out a knife and screwdriver and robbed him of his cell phone and bank card with a pin.
“They then took an undisclosed amount of cash and drove off in their silver VW Polo leaving the victims stranded in the bushes.
A case of armed robbery is still to be opened at the nearest saps and investigation will resume.
