MOKGOLOBOTO-A hijacked Toyota Corolla belonging to a police constable attached to Sekgosese Police station in the Greater Letaba was recovered on Tuesday evening at Mokgoloboto village in Greater Tzaneen. During the hijacking SAPS member was also robbed a service pistol and cash.
Limpopo police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, says six heavily armed suspects stopped the 35-year-old police Constable, along the road just outside Khujwana village, under Greater Tzaneen, and robbed her cash at gun point on Monday.
Mojapelo says the suspects, armed with rifles, diverted and escorted her towards Muhlava village where she was ordered to stop. They then searched the vehicle and took cash that was in the vehicle.
Mojapelo says the victim was thereafter, escorted to her house in Khujwana village where she was ordered to open the safe.
The suspects then took the money in the safe, her official 9mm pistol and a cellphone, and left without firing a shot. The victim was not injured during the robbery.
Canine Security together with Tracker SA confirmed that the vehicle was recovered at Mokgoloboto on Tuesday at around 22H00.
