SHIKWANE VILLAGE-A young boy who died in a tragic drowning incident last Saturday was buried in his home village Shikwane, Ga-Sekororo in Maruleng municipality.
In an emotional ceremony attended by pupils, community members bade farewell to the 8-year-old Mateo Mangena, saying they had been “torn” by his death.
Mangena allegedly drowned while swimming at Letsepe Lekamaka lodge at Metz village at around 20h00, it is reported that emergency personnel were called and he was declared dead on the scene.
Police confirmed to Tzaneen voice that an inquest docket was open and the investigations are underway.
