GAVAZA VILLAGE— A Body of a man was found at Local sports in Gavaza village outside Burgersdorp in Greater Tzaneen following an alleged mob justice attack on Thursday morning.
When Maake police responded to a call on Thursday Morning, upon arrival at Two for Joy they found the body of an unknown male who sustained fatal injuries. The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel.
The motive for the attack is still to be confirmed.
According to residents at the scene, word spread like wildfire that two suspected burglars were chased by patrollers after they were spotted in possession of stolen goods in the wee hours of Thursday.
It is alleged that one suspect was caught and found carrying a pig with a wheelbarrow, amplifier and four cell phones.
Another suspect managed to flee into the bushes.
The other one was caught and dragged to Two for Joy sports ground where he was beaten by a mob and left there fighting for his life.
