SEKGOSESE– The residents of Sekgosese village are mourning the untimely death of ward 15,Rapho branch councilor, Phethedi Walter Selema.
He died after losing a battle to sugar diabetes, on Friday evening, January 01.
The Greater Letaba Municipality Mayor Peter Matlou accompanied by speaker Dora Makhananisa, chief whip Phetole Mampeule, and acting Municipal Manager Dr. Bertha Letsoalo, has sent their heartfelt condolences and expressed words of praise and sorrow during visitor the bereaved family.
The 35-year-old ward councilor has served his community with diligence, dedication, and commitment since 2016. During his tenure, he had won hearts of the residents in Sekgosese with some calling him “Noko and mophalaborwa” as he was affectionately known.
His colleague, Lovers Maenetja had this to say about him. “He left behind a family, which is even more saddening. He was a humble man”.
Phethedi will be buried at Ga- Phooko, on Saturday, January 09. A memorial service in his honour was held today, Thursday, January 07 from 12 PM at the same venue.
