KHEHLAKONG-The hall of Khetlhakong was in a jubilation mood when the Mayor, Cllr Dagma Mamanyoha handed over 67 blankets to 67 elderly citizens in honour of Nelson Mandela and his legacy on Thursday, July 20.
The Mayor continues to celebrate the milestones Tata Madiba made for the country and the world by doing a marathon of activities.
He started by painting at Sewela pre-school at Matshwi, followed by a handover of Tshabela Mmatswale Street project at Kgapane then concluded his day at Khetlhakong Community Hall where he handed over 67 blankets.
In his speech, the Mayor touched on the theme for 2023 which says ‘It is in your hands’ indicating how we all have a responsibility to play in making sure that we create a just and sustainable world for all.
He will proceed to Ga-Ntata Community Hall on Friday, July 21 to further close the month by handing over 134 blankets to 134 elderly people.
