MAUPA VILLAGE-The Mayor of Greater Letaba Municipality, Cllr Dagma Mamanyoha has on Thursday, October 12 handed over 5 wheelchairs and food hampers to 5 beneficiaries as part of the Mayor’s social responsibility programme which he embarks on a year to year basis to celebrate his birth month of October by giving back to the community.
Two recipients are from Maupa Village, one from Jamela and two from Mohlabaneng village.
In his remarks during the marathon of handovers, the Mayor was very happy to celebrate his birth month by doing good to mankind.
“ I do not have to receive gifts on my birthday, what fulfils me the most is making an impact in the lives of our people. Even by the smallest of gestures”, the Mayor said.
He was joined by his Political Management team members are Cllr Ramalatso who is the Whip of the Council, The Speaker, Cllr Mokgwathi, EXCO members, councillors, Municipal Manager Sewape, officials from the Department of Social Development and the traditional Authorities in those areas.
The five recipients were very happy and honoured to receive the gifts from the Mayor and celebrate his birth month with them.
