SKIMMING VILLAGE-The murderer, Samuel Munareng (23) from Skhimini village was sentenced to life in prison by the Thohoyandou High Court.
Munareng was convicted on Wednesday and was arrested at the age of 18, at the time of his arrest, he was in grade 09.
It is reported that Munareng accosted his friend, a victim (Lucky Mamaila) who was coming from a local tavern and protested why he is dating his girlfriend, police said.
An argument ensued between the two and the accused reportedly stabbed the victim and cut off his Manhood with a sharp object the victim immediately succumbed to his injuries.
Police were summoned to the crime scene and his private part was later found approximately 500 metres from the crime scene.
A case docket of murder was opened at the Giyani police station and assigned to former Warrant Officer, Soza Radio Mnisi who managed to apprehend the suspect the following day after the incident.
The suspect was on trial without bail and he appeared before the Thohoyandou High Court on Wednesday, and he was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
