MANKWENG-A Grade 4 learner from Moriting Primary School in Mankweng has sadly passed away after a tragic incident involving a pen lid.
According to the Limpopo Department of Education, the child accidentally swallowed the lid and soon experienced difficulty breathing.
Teachers acted quickly to get him medical help, but despite their efforts, the learner could not be saved.
MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya has extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and confirmed that psychosocial support services have been sent to assist both the family and the school community during this difficult time.
