LETABA- The Greater Letaba Local Municipality mayor, Cllr Dagma Mamanyoha is heading to court demanding an R200k lawsuit against the municipal indigent resident, who accused him of being corrupt and a porn star.
Tebogo Gottlieb Ramalepe, a resident of Mamphakhathi village under Greater Letaba Municipality took to Facebook in November 2022 and accused the mayor of not bringing service delivery, while all he does is have sex with comrades and throw endless parties.
Ramalepe was reacting to the shortage of water that is being experienced in Mamphakhathi village and other villages under Letaba Municipality.
In the same month the mayor was also attacked on social media by another resident named Ntebatshe Sekgodiso regarding the poor state of Medingen road and people’s decry on the shortages of water in the municipality.
The mayor through his lawyer TJ Machete instructed both Ramalepe and Sekgodiso to retract their defamatory statements and apologise.
Sekgodiso subsequently retracted his statements and further apologised through his legal team after meeting the mayor.
Ramalepe says after receiving a letter of instructs from the mayor’s lawyer dated 28 November 2022, he met with the mayor together with his office manager Eric Mohale on December 06, where he was further told to drop his statements towards the mayor, as the issue of water is not the competency of the municipality but that of Mopani District.
According to the court papers that Tzaneen Voice has seen, Ramalepe sent the mayor a WhatsApp text demanding to be hired for the advertised post of general worker, however, the mayor told him to apply like everyone else and he didn’t take the mayor’s reply well and posted on Facebook again on January 06 whereby he labelled the mayor a porn star.
“Mayor Dagma must have forgotten that he was a member of the community before he is a member of a political party, since his terrible reign as a mayor of GLM, most villages if not all have a shortage of water, we were hoping that a young vibrant leader would put the needs of his villages before corruption, but it seems we just voted for a young corrupt porn star” Ramalepe posted.
Mayor Mamanyoha retaliated by instructing his lawyers to file a lawsuit against Ramalepe, which he received on Tuesday, January 24.
Ramalepe who’s a petrol attendant at Total garage in Kgapane and who earns way too less to can even afford a lawyer is faced with an R200k heavy lawsuit from the mayor.
