GIYANI- The Giyani Regional court handed a hefty 20 years sentence in prison to a 31-year-old man on Monday after found guilty of raping an 18-year-old mentally disabled neighbour.
The rape charged Thabo Maluleke from Nurhi Sefasonke Village in Giyani was prosecuted for raping a mentally disabled teenager who was sent to throw a garbage next to the soccer field on Thursday, March back in 2019.
According to Giyani Police spokesperson Ridgwell Rikhotso, the rape culprit met with the victim on her way to the garbage and grabbed her to the nearby veld area just next to the soccer field and raped her.
The dirty and sexually molested victim returned home and upon her arrival, her mother questioned her of what happened and she narrated the ordeal to her.
The culprit was nabbed within 24 hours after a case of rape was opened with Giyani Saps.
