KGAPANE- The murder trial case involving Bad Company’s ring leader Thabo Makgobola, fondly known as General Manizo has been postponed and referred to the Polokwane High Court division for a further hearing later this year.

The talented but yet controversial ‘amadamara’ musician General Manizo appeared before the Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court on Monday, January 23 in an attempt to get his freedom back through bail, however, his application was rocked with another postponement and further remanded by police custody until he returns to a different and new Court on  14 August 2023, where he will embark on his court appearances before the Polokwane High Court concerning his murder charge.

According to a source in the legal fraternity, the matter gets referred to the High Court Division for various reasons such as the sensitivity of the case, the suspect’s criminal profile and also when the matter exceeds the jurisdiction of the magistrate.

“The matter is referred to High Court for various factors and amongst them is that it has a broader sentence and are allowed to hand down longer sentences,” the source said.

Manizo was arrested on charges of murder and possession of illegal firearms, after he shot and killed his then 23-year-old girlfriend Kgaogelo Maake while drinking in Morutji Village, Bolobedu South on the 1st of March 2022 and was subsequently arrested in May.

It seems like the 35-year-old’s criminal profile has come back to haunt him as his days in jail and court appearances are far from a point of conclusion, as this murder case is expected to drag even further
