GA-SEKORORO- Lindiwe Moagi has the natural ability to see opportunity even when things look impossible.

That’s why, from a young age, she told herself that she wanted to live to empower women.

Moagi fulfilled her ambitions when she auditioned for Miss Bachelorette South Africa and advanced to the Semi-Final; today, she is proudly one of the top 16 finalists.

The 28 year old  beauty queen grew up in the dusty rural village Lorraine in Gasekororo under Maruleng municipality.

Even though she had a difficult upbringing where poverty was at the centre of every decision she made, she never allowed that to be a stumbling block for her to accomplishing her dreams.

“I grew up in a poor environment, lacking in many things—including sanitary towels—and seeing the financial and emotional abuse of my mother, but because I had enormous goals, I took the little we had and kept dreaming,” she added.

Being so active with individuals like her family, friend Mojalefa Rapao, and coworkers Shaku Tshwanelo, has contributed to Moagi’s success.

She struggled with low self-esteem, but thanks to their strong support in all of her endeavours and the advice of Andani Munonde, who once said,

“You need to be your first cheerleader, You need to stand up and make things happen for you,” she felt inspired and motivated to do everything in her power to uplift other women, empower them, and combat GBV on this platform.

The Tzaneen Medi clinic midwife told Tzaneen voice that she is currently working on hosting the “Glow Up Girl Picnic” event, which will be held at the Ga-Sekororo Dinokeng Resort. The occasion will occur on February 25.

The fundamental goal of this event is to provide women with the financial, emotional, and physical independence they deserve.

Moagi is also a member of an NGO that supports and motivates students in schools and donates sanitary towels.

“I am proud of being the woman I am becoming, gracious, loving, bold and caring, and not afraid of any challenge I come across.

“I am proud to be in a better place and seeing life in a different light,” says Moagi
