GA-SEKGOPO-In a heart-wrenching turn of events, renowned Limpopo Kiba singer Mpatli Patrick Rakgabale, popularly known as Tau Sebata, is mourning the loss of his five-year-old son, Shimane Sarion Rakgabale. The tragic news has left the community in shock and sorrow.

The Limpopo Arts Organisation has stepped in to support the grieving family, arranging for Shimane’s funeral to be held this Sunday at Tau Sebata’s home in Moremadi Paledi, Polokwane.

Shimane passed away on Saturday night, and the funeral is expected to bring together family, friends, and fans to pay their final respects.

Tau Sebata, a multi-award-winning artist hailing from Ga-Sekgopo in Greater Letaba, has had a long and illustrious career in Kiba cultural music and dance. Known for his deep passion for the traditional sounds of Kiba, Rakgabale’s musical journey began in 1998.

He recorded his first album during a time when disco was highly popular, drawing inspiration from the late Peta Teanet.
