The funeral services of the woman murdered by her husband who is pastor and former teacher is currently under in Lulekani, under Ba-phalaborwa.
Patricia Ngobeni aged 45 was allegedly stabbed and murdered by her husband at their home at Biko Settlement, Lulekani on Tuesday August 16.
According to Limpopo police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Mamphaswa Seabi,the police received information about the incident and swiftly responded. Upon arrival at the scene, they found the deceased who had suffered multiple stab wounds lying in a pool blood inside the house.
“The suspect was later arrested after he handed himself over to the police at the Lulekani police station. The motive for the murder is not clear at this stage but domestic violence cannot be ruled out,” Seabi said.
Provincial commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe has expressed shock at “another senseless case” where a vulnerable woman was brutally killed at the hands of someone, she trusted to protect her.
The accused (71) appeared in the Lulekani Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, August 18 facing a charge of murder and his bail application was postponed to Wednesday August 24.
Ngobeni will be laid to rest at Matiko xikaya cemetery in Lulekani.
