Funeral details announced for celebrated Phalaborwa young Doctor

PHALABORWA-The funeral and memorial service details of Dr Gaynelle Makhubele of Two Summers Health Centre has been announced.

The Makhubele family has confirmed that the public memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 10 at  Impala Park Hall in Phalaborwa at 11h00.

Hundreds of tributes poured in for Makhubele’s family following the announcement of her death on Sunday.

According to the family, Dr Makhubele passed on after she collapsed at her practice on Sunday, August 06.

She was born in Acornhoek but grew up in Phalaborwa where she matriculated at Frans Du Toit High School.

The 32-year-old Dr holds Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Cape Town.

She worked at Letaba Hospital and Maphutha Malatji Hospital before she opened Two Summers Health Centre 24-Hour Clinic in Phalaborwa.

Ba-Phalaborwa Mayor, Cllr Merriam Malatji says “It is shocking and disheartening to lose such a bright and intelligent young doctor in our community. The fact that she managed to open the 24-hour clinic for the benefit of the community speaks volumes. It is a great loss indeed”,

“I am wishing the family peace, comfort, courage and lots of love during this time of sorrow. God be with you”, she said.

Dr Gaynelle Makhubele will be laid to rest on Saturday, August 12.
