The popular Mamshangaan Tavern in Phalaubeni village under Greater Giyani was burnt to ashes in the early hours of Wednsday morning.
It is alleged that the commuters who were going to work in the morning saw the tavern burning and they immediately informed the tavern owner.
No injuries were reported. The total damage done is not currently known.
The cause of fire is still unknown at this stage and the police were there to take a statement.
Police investigations are underway.
