BODUPE VILLAGE- The police in Bolobedu are investigating a case of culpable homicide. This comes after an alleged speeding grey Mercedes Benz knocked a woman down, killing her instantly at Bodupe village in Greater Letaba, on Saturday afternoon, May 28.
According to preliminary police reports, the 56 years old victim believed to be a teacher in one of the local schools was allegedly standing on the roadside when the car came speeding towards her. It is further alleged that the driver ultimately lost control, veered off the road and drove into the victim.
Emergency personnel were summoned, and upon assessment, the victim was declared dead on the scene. The driver of the vehicle in question was allegedly also badly injured and was immediately rushed to a nearby health facility for medical attention.
Kgapane police station media liaison officer, Sergeant Khomotso Hlokwe confirmed the incident and stated that they are going to conduct further investigation into the matter to ascertain the exact cause of the accident”.
