LOS ANGELES: Fears are being raised for the five passengers on board the missing Titanic submersible as their emergency supply of oxygen is believed to have run out.
The 6.5m craft plunged into the North Atlantic Ocean on Sunday, 18 June, to see the remains of the British passenger liner that infamously sank in 1912.
The tourist aboard the vessel includes a British aviation billionaire, a Pakistani tycoon and his son.
The three paid about R4.6 million for a seat on the sub called the Titan.
The tour operator’s boss and a French submarine operator are also trapped in the Titan.
The titanic wreck is approximately 3800m down and a military submarine diving limit is up to 500m.
Those onboard only have enough oxygen to last until today.
The five people stuck inside the submarine are :
Paul – Henry Nargeolet ( 73 )
Stockton Rush ( 61 )
Hamish Harding ( 58 )
Shahzada Dawood ( 48 )
Sulaiman Dawood ( 19 )
