Father and son arrested for Robbery

GA-MARISHANE-A 48-year-old father and his son aged 21 and two others aged 31 and 38  were apprehended for house robbery and defeating the ends of justice which were committed in LGa-Marishane) on Friday evening, April 07.

According to police reports, the suspects allegedly robbed a cattle herder an amount of R12000,00 at gunpoint while at his residence and later fled the scene driving Toyota Avanza motor vehicle.

Limpopo Police Spokesperson,  Motlafela Mojapelo said during the arrest the Police recovered R12480.00 in cash, one firearm with ammunition and a clothing brand of fabiani cap, jean and t-shirt valued at R4400,00 as well as carvella shoes.

They also confiscated the toyota avanza motor vehicle believed to have  been utilized in the commission of the crime.

“Preliminary investigations has revealed that the victim is a cattle herder hired by suspect(48) who had masterminded  the incident by conspiring with his son where they allegedly instructed the two suspects to rob the victim because he was reluctant to deposit the money in the bank.

The four shared the money amongst themselves after the robbery incident.” said Police spokesperson, Motlafela Mojapelo.

The four suspects are expected to appear before Nebo Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, April 11 for house robbery and defeating the ends of Justice.
