LENYENYE-The family of Masilo Elias Maake(66) who was reported deceased by Tzaneen Voice on Sunday has been located.
This comes after his neighbours in Mokopane reached out as they were desperately searching for his family to collect his body.
As it stands, the deceased’s brother, Khobokwane Makwala from Mogapeng village, Greater Tzaneen, came forward and confirmed to the publication that Maake is his long-lost brother who left home in December of 1996 going to search for a job, however, he never returned home and was never seen again.
“He left home to seek for job as he used to, he was known in the family as someone who changes jobs and comes home after a long time, sometimes after 6 months, a year, or two. Suddenly he went for good. And during that time we didn’t have cell phones” Makwala said
Makwala indicated that the family travelled to Mokopane and has positively identified his brothers’ mortal remains.
He said that they are in the process of bringing his body home, however, they are facing financial constraints due to the fact that they did not register the deceased with any burial society because they had no hope he will ever return home alive or dead.
“My brother left a wife and children at Marumofase village when he disappeared. We discovered that he was staying with another woman in Mokopane who has also passed when we arrived, hence, he was depending on handouts from neighbours “, Makwala said
Maake’s funeral will take place on Friday 28 April 2023 at Mogapeng Village @ 06h00 in the morning.
