MOGABE VILLAGE- A distraught Annah Mohale of Mogabe Village near Tsidinko Ga-Maake , Greater Tzaneen, share a dilapidated two-room house with 12 other family members.

The family is, thus, pleading for help after being allegedly promised an emergency RDP house that has not been delivered for over two years.

Mohale said that the family is in complete dire straits and lives in abject poverty. She said that they depend entirely on child support grants because she, her husband and 3 other adults in the family are unemployed.

“The parents passed away ages ago and the situation at home has worsened. It would help if we could find jobs to take care of ourselves and our children, but, we can’t find jobs and are fully dependent on child support grants. We need aid”, she said.

Mohale further said the local government came on several occasions to assess the situation. They reportedly took documents to register and process an emergency RDP house for the family, but, no help has been forthcoming.

Tzaneen Voice made attempts to involve the local government through the ward 35 councillor Ngwako Ratopola, however, he referred the publication to Greater Tzaneen Municipality media liaison Neville Ndlala who has not responded to our questions.
