TZANEEN- Fifty-year-old Ruth Mukhawana has been described as a hardworking colleague and a caring mother to her two kids.
She was raped and murdered on Saturday.
Relatives, friends, and colleagues gathered at Tzaneen Hollywood bet for a memorial service on Thursday afternoon.
Her lifeless body was found hidden at the back of the house by a family member on Sunday afternoon.
A 42-year-old man – previously convicted of murder – was arrested.
‘One Colleague who preferred not to be named said ‘The mood of the team is highly affected by her death, everyone is still shocked as the tragedy of her death struck like a lightning.This has also affected our customers who were very close to her.We wish we can see her again performing her daily work routine activities, this is so painful” she sobbed
The man accused of Mukhawana’s rape and murder had spent years behind bars for murder.
Mukhawana will be laid to rest on Sunday at Dan Village.
