GA-SEKGOPO – A Mathematics educator, Piet Rampedi, who was employed at Marobathota High School reportedly lost a battle to Covid-19 on Tuesday.
Department of Education Mankweng Circuit paid tribute to Rampedi of its social media platform that: “Marobathota High School has lost its first deputy principal, Piet Rampedi, who was laid to rest today (Thursday) in Ga-Sekgopo village.”
According to the school principal… Mokoka, Rampedi joined the institution in 2011. He described the deceased as a man of virtue, humble, kind, and naturally balanced.
It was learned that Rampedi was born in Ga-Sekgopo village. He studied at the University of Limpopo (previously known as the University of the North).
It was further reported that he succumbed to Covid-19 related complications after a short illness. His untimely death has reportedly shocked learners, colleagues, and the education fraternity.
Some of his former learners conveyed their heartfelt condolences: “A great leader, teacher and motivational speaker,” wrote Maakone Rosemary
Sechaba Morwaswi Mahlare said “If it wasn’t because of him, I wouldn’t have passed Mathematics. He liked saying, ‘what you see is not what you see until you prove it to be what you see’ referring to angles in Mathematics.”
It was learned that due to the nature of his cause of death, only family members were allowed to attend the funeral.
