BORDEAX VILLAGE-Residents of Bordeaux village, Greater Tzaneen, have braved the cold weather this morning to protest at a construction site in the area over “unfair employment practices “.

It is reported that the sub-contractor, TQM Engineers, a company hired to install water reticulation pipes in the village overlooked the residents when hiring labourers. It is further alleged that the company solicited bribes from those hired to secure employment.

“They appointed people who paid bribes to them. We are fighting against corruption”, a resident said.

As it stands, the villagers have closed the entry at the site office.

The management of TQM engineers could not be reached for comment.
