HOEDSPRUIT– Mopani District Municipality has dispatched its disaster management team to assist the families whose shacks were destroyed by fire in an informal settlement near Hoedspruit.
The Fire and Rescue Services had earlier responded to a fire that destroyed shacks on Wednesday afternoon. They were able to contain the fire before it could spread to many other shacks. However, one person was injured and rushed to the hospital and approximately 14 shacks were destroyed. The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
