THOHOYANDOU-Vhu Munyai, the man who went viral for poking a crocodile, has now become a local celebrity in Thohouandou.

Hailing from Duthuni Village, Munyai’s daring antics—captured in a video where he teases the reptile—has made him a recognizable figure in the Vhembe area.

The footage, which was shared on the Tzaneen Voice platform, shows Munyai provoking the crocodile by poking it and even extending his leg in a challenge to encourage the animal to bite.

As the video gained traction, a crowd of onlookers cheered him on, amused by his risky behavior.

Today, Munyai was spotted at Thivhani Mall wearing a lime green golf shirt emblazoned with the words “Vhanyai” and his phone number, alongside the caption “King of Crocodile,” a nod to his viral fame. Shoppers flocked to him, eager to snap a photo with the newly minted local celebrity.

However, while some view Munyai’s actions as a brave and humorous stunt, animal rights advocates and concerned locals have raised alarms about the potential dangers to both Munyai and the crocodile.

The South African Police Service’s SPCSA has reportedly visited him for investigation, though it remains unclear if any formal case has been opened.
