DAN VILLAGE- The rural retail development giant, McCormick Property Development (MPD) received the approval rights for the construction of Dan City Mall, which is set to be their largest rural retail development.

The R3 billion Dan City mixed-use retail development which will include a motor city, hospital and school, will be situated on the R36 in Nkowankowa, 15kms outside Tzaneen town.

The 146 000m2 site size had been secured in Dan village for the construction of the largest mixed-use development in Limpopo.

The shopping mall will have three (3) grocery anchors, and an expansive fashion mix, food, entertainment, as well as banking and services previously not represented within the local retail market of the region.

Dan City Mall’s prime location will largely benefit communities residing around Nkowankowa to The Oaks, 65 km to the southeast of the region, who are currently paying taxi fares ranging from R36 and R100 for a round trip to Tzaneen town, to purchase household essentials and do other services.

With rights approved by the Greater Tzaneen Municipal Planning Tribunal, the mall’s work on-site is pencilled to start later this year and is anticipated to officially open in 2025.

” We are thrilled that the rights for Dan City Mall have finally been approved. It is a scheme the team has been pushing for years, as we have always seen the potential of this region.

This one (Dan City Mall ) is going to be extra special, and I cannot wait to deliver an exceptional product to these communities” says MD of MPD, Jason McCormick.
